Johnsfolly Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 So far a somewhat dissapointing spring for hummingbirds. We have only had one migrating male at our feeders and that was almost two weeks ago. On the flip side Livie already has monarch caterpillars that are pretty large and two are getting ready to pupate. trythisonemv and BilletHead 2
tho1mas Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Not many HB's around my neck of the woods yet. Four cups of food lasts about two weeks in two feeders. trythisonemv and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Strange year for us here too. We have a grand total of two. Normally they are thick right now? Jerry Rapp Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 about a month ago we had several at the feeders constantly for about a week. Since, zip, nodda, nothing.
trythisonemv Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 We see a decline this time a year for a few weeks then they Re done nesting and laying eggs and start showing up again. Usually early and late at first then all day long around end of may beginning of June. tho1mas and BilletHead 2

I just cannot remember this many disappearing. for any length of time, BilletHead trythisonemv 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" bkbying89 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Our hummers showed early and we have more that usual for this time of year. By midsummer, I think I'll be struggling to keep them fed. Johnsfolly, tho1mas and trythisonemv 3
