pre-conceived notions can ruin a fishing trip.  Voice of experience speaks again.

Or can save it...

Yep. Day 1 last week. Looked perfect for it. First flip with a Bugz in a place I'd buzzed to death kicked out a fish. We even built a dozen buzzbait or so for the trip.

I'm not at all sure the fish around Kimberling are eating shad. Lots of craw bits showing and being spit up. Strong Ned, tube, FB jig bite. Also swing head, but they were short biting it badly this morning

Seems like a good deal for a weightless dinger.

Saw some surface activity the other morning but it was just gar:(

I've caught some really good bass, fishing under gar. Caught two six pounders on back to back cast once, letting the bait go to the bottom under a mix of gar and white bass.

Was that on the Rock? It's been a long time since I've caught a six pounder. I know the LM are a bit lazy and are opportunistic feeders. I've caught some dandies in past years under white bass. This year I haven't been able to find any whites feeding.

Looks like I am not gonna be able to make it after all. Bummer. Wanted to get in on that flip bite.

If it makes you feel better, I hear the flipping bite is slowing down. Lots of fishing moving deeper.

I threw a Buzzbait with zero luck, but I was in the James - not in the fish packed, snake gaurded area you frequent.

I'm hoping to charm those snakes, put a tip in the jar and take a run through that cove.

That bite isn't going away anytime soon as long as there is 15 feet of water over flooded green trees. Some people just want it to fade.

Yep. Those fish won't leave until something forces them to leave. Pool level most likely, maybe weather.

Look for the depth, location of bushes/trees, and type of trees to change though.
