Glad you are ok and glad you wore your vest.  I am still pretty young but have starting wearing my inflatable all the time.  2 years ago I heard a guy who had just pulled a body out of Beaver Lake say something like "I have yet to recover a body that was wearing a life jacket."  It isn't a guarantee of a safe return home but it eliminates 95% of the risk.

I wear mine religiously while on the boat/canoe.   Even while loading.  I am teaching my kids to do the same.   Sure, maybe nothing will happen, and look silly.  But I also wear my seatbelt in the car and helmet while I bicycle and skateboard.  Sure the generation before me was tougher, but a lot of them died early due to accidents.   I have 3 kids to worry about.  

Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me)
