Where is it located?

Southern Illinois.  Probably as close to an Ozark-ish lake you can get in Illinois.  Deepish and somewhat clear in parts.  They tried to stock smallmouth in it in the recent years but it seems to have not worked.  Has big musky in it.

Tons of wake boats and recreational boats during the summer.  Great bass, crappie and Muskie fishing if you can figure them out.

I fish it more than most lakes in the area.

Well, gonna try to get there early this Saturday and get in a few hours of fishing before it gets bad. First time there. They also stock walleye but there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in fishing for them. Why, I wonder?

I've caught a few nice walleye there up to 26".  Don't expect to catch one unless you put in a lot of time.

Thanks! Mostly just going to get to know the lake since this will be my first time. Is it because of lack of numbers? What method did you use to catch the ones you caught?

I've heard about it's musky fishing. That is intriguing to me. Also about bowfin below the dam. I would love to catch a big male bowfin during it's spawn. Pretty cool looking fish that time of year.
