rps Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Went out early this morning and found 88 - 89 water temps. Little wind. Got hot quickly. I had a yen to fish down lake today so I did. I marked many fish 15 to 22 feet down on sand and gravel points. They formed more of a blanket than a school. I caught a few bass on a finesse worm while I tried my new jig/worm rig. Action was really slow though so I started fishing for walleye. Didn't catch a one of them. However I caught several bass including a pretty good 18 inch fish. A tip: More than once as I started to reel in my worm harness to check it after a bluegill attack or a temporary hang, a bass clobbered the spinner as it came off the bottom. I would bet if you put your boat in 30' of water and threw a Little George or one of Bo's spin jigs way up in 15 feet of water and let it sink to the bottom before you popped it off and reeled 4 cranks to start over, you would get bit. You might try that on the ramp point/flat at Emerald Beach for example. Quillback, merc1997 Bo, Ellros and 8 others 11

merc1997 Bo Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 speaking of emerald beach, years ago, there used to be a pretty good tree patch just inside the bluff end point up on the pea gravel. back in the day, we would tie up to one of the tree tops and sit there and just load the boat. so, champ is right there is nothing to see at that location any longer because that big patch of trees is not there any longer. bo
