Quillback Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I have been picking up a few fish using a Trick Worm on a Charlie Brewer 1/8 oz Spider head. You can Texas rig the worm on the Spider head, and it's relatively snag less. Less snaggy than a conventional Texas rig, kind of like Dave's Ned heads, they will snag up every once in a while, but it's not that bad. And if you lose one, you aren't out much dough. Only draw back is it's a slow drop with that 1/8 oz head.

A drop shot? I think if we tried to drag them...we would hang up constantly...thanks for help if you reply That's definitely dropshot territory. Some might recommend a spoon. top_dollar 1
wily Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Thanks...I like his slider heads...have used with fish doctor for a long time. Raining here now...not much but enough...feels good. We fished by the swim beach this morning and had three nice kys on a drop shot in about 20 minutes...
wily Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Thanks for reply on drop shot...that's the plan for today...I'm going to try drop shot the deeper fish on ledge and run troller...and have boys throw jigs and tubes to the bluff...will keep you posted
wily Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Not to be a jerk but just as a sample...there are a lot of those size fish floating in main channel...we also saw a 28 inch or so walleye floating yesterday which suprised us...figured it for table fare Drop shot working great...50 fish day at least...mostly 12 to 14 inch ky bass...some keepers though
wily Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Most are about like this one...drop shot in about 25 feet is best.
wily Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Hard time down loading....too many blues SplitG2, Quillback and cheesemaster 3
Champ188 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Starting to sound something like the fish kill we had last year or the year before.
wily Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Much tougher this morning...only 2 fish in 2 hours...what a difference a day makes

Just curious, I know the last couple of times I was out the fish seemed to be moving around a lot which makes it tough to stay on them.
