JestersHK Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Yeah I was using a 5oz weight and it was still so rough it just tossed my bait all over the place... Glad you got into some snook they are a cool fish for sure Gavin 1
Gavin Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Still a bit dirty here on Ft Myers beach. Plenty of catfish on the beach, the passes are allot clearer. High falling tide moving inshore to outshore has been best. Ocean side is really murky still. Would get a kayak and fish inshore if I was not leaving in the AM. 10000 islands/Naples should be good now.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I've been to sanibel and captiva many times. Never in the summer beach fishing season. Nice!!! Gavin 1
Flyguide7 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I have lived in northwest Florida for over 21 years and love fishing there. This time of year there are large migrations of bait fish migrating out of the bays into the Gulf. This Attracts lady fish enmasse which in turn attracts lots of sharks. I have had my best luck on outgoing tides. Lady fish can easily be caught but they like fast moving presentation. They like top water baits like Zara spooks. Sharks love lady fish so if you can catch a small one 10-12 inches fish it under a ballon as a bobber you will have a good chance of getting it eaten.
