cooler weather

Crappie bite was okay in the afternoon, but I'm still figuring the lake out. Had two keepers in 2.5 hours.

Wind was not bad around Masters. Was able to stay put with just the trolling motor. Lots of boat traffic though.

Has the cooler weather slowed the bite? Anyone gonna be fishing today?

From what i hear Table Rock is good. You should try your skills down there.

how were you targeting the crappie? when we were last down, it seemed like they prefered a smaller profile bait. size 5 and 6 flicker shads trolled, and 1/4oz binks spoons jigged.

I will idle along in an area that I know has brush piles until I see them on sonar, then I toss out a buoy to mark it. I'll mark two piles then circle back with the trolling motor and start dropping jigs on them.

Yesterday I was using a black roadrunner with a variety of tubes and grubs. Going to try a couple different jigs tonight and see if anything works better. Like I said, I'm new to the lake and still honing my technique.

I have only tried trolling a little bit and was unsuccessful, I don't have a way to know how much line is out, or a plug knocker, I don't feel like donating my 5$ flicker shads to the lake.

Bass bite started out good this morning, had 3 keepers in the first 30 minutes but it completely shut off after that. Tried trolling flicker shads and jigging a spoon for awhile with no luck. Either way it was great to be on the boat without sweating through my shirt! I figure somebody tore em up today.

Wife and I took a quick trip down today  had 9 keepers and 7 short walleye.  A lot of boat traffic and blue gill to contend with.  half bottom bouncing and  half jig and crawler.

I've been reading this forum for awhile now and would really like to learn how to catch walleye on Stockton.  I just moved to the area a couple years ago and have struggled on this lake.  Could anyone give me some pointers on what area of the lake to fish?  I live in the Walnut Grove area so Aldrich is where i usually put in.  However, Greenfield isnt too far either and I would be willing to travel to find them.  I want to try bottom bouncing or maybe trolling crank baits.  I appreciate any advice you might be willing to give me.  Thanks.
