stlfisher Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Caught this nice one yesterday and several more just a bit smaller. Been a long time since I caught that many big fish in a day. It was hard to leave, but the little guy wanted to head home. My buddy caught several nice ones as well. Greasy B, Johnsfolly, Quillback and 9 others 12

J-Doc Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 That's a cute little dude right there. I know you're proud of him. Seems like not that ling ago my son wss that size. If I could get that timback....i would so do it differently. Don't wear him out, go out of your way to make it fun for him and not you, and make sure you keep imho entertained and excited about it. He will either like it or not. Don't force him. And nice bass btw. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
MOPanfisher Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Love to see kids out enjoying the trips, regardless if they are fishing or not. Some of the best trips I had with my kids started as a planned fishing trip to the creek and ended up with the rods in the truck and us splashing and laughing like lunatics as we caught crawdads and played in the water. Most excellent sir. stlfisher 1

And nice bass btw. Thank you. He really wanted to fish yesterday, but changed his mind when he got to the lake. He had fun, but wasn't feeling the fishing today. I usually wait for him to ask to go...so he doesn't feel pressured to say "yes" when he doesn't want to. He does a great job, but at times he just wants to go and explore. Johnsfolly and timinmo 2
J-Doc Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Yeah he just wants to be a little kid and play. Which is normal. One thing I wish I had done was taken some toys as a back up plan. Or something to help occupy his mind a little longer. You really have to put kids on fish That a re literally almost every cast to get them hooked on it. I did that at a pond and it helped. stlfisher 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. stlfisher Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Yeah, we spend a lot of time at pond down the street catching Bluegill. He loves it. Then he caught a bass and now he wants to that, but realizing it is a bit more challenging. Yesterday, was the first time I took him to fish with my buddy so he was pretty enamored with him. A legend in a little boys eyes I am sure. My buddy was a great sport about it. A lot of times I just load up both my boys and we just go look at rivers, lakes, creeks, playground etc. It sounds kind of hokey, we call it adventuring, but they love it.
J-Doc Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Sounds like a good Dad to me. stlfisher 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
