Guys two years ago I bought a house on St. Clair lake and like most lake lots It was small. My problem was I had a no room for my two boats so I sold my river boat......and I have regretted it ever since. Recently I bought a 1448 G3 Jon boat from my son in law. It was just a plain Jon so I needed to modify it to suit my needs. I bought an old 25 Merc jet and a bunch of aluminum angle. I riveted the frame work together and decked it with plywood. Saturday I will wire up the trolling motor and install my batteries and hit the river early Sunday morning.

Yup, off PP. in the Lake St. Clair subdivision. A 60-70 acre lake. Loaded with largemouth and mega bluegills.

Lake 3 and4 have huge crappie

Yes they do. In two years of fishing I have not caught a crappie smaller than 10" the only problem is I have only caught 2. Too many largemouth. In keeping with the advise given by state fisheries biologists I have encouraged my neighbors to kill those under 15". Since the lake is overrun with mature bass in the 10-13 inch range.

I have heard of truck break-ins at some of the access points, I am planning on launching at river round on Sunday morning. Have there been any breakins down there?

I hit the river this morning late; about 9:00 am. My river scooter is more like a river crawler. It runs top end maybe 10 mph. Not really getting up on plane. I put in at Redhorse and went upstream about 4 miles or so. I did manage to catch 2 smallies and a decent largemouth. Looks like I am going to need a 40 hp.
