moguy1973 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Since I put the 2nd TM battery in the back of my Tracker Pro Team 175TXW with a 60hp 4 stroke Merc it's been having issues coming out of the hole. Probably takes a good 100' or so before it's on plane. It was really bad this past weekend during a tournament with my buddy in the boat and all his equipment and a livewell full of water. Once it gets going though it tops out at the speeds I had before the extra battery and goes around 36-37mph according to GPS when it's trimmed out. Anything I can do to get it up out of the water faster? Or is it something I'll have to deal with having the extra weight in the boat? -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 What pitch prop do you have on it. Mine would come up on plane just fine with two people 3 batteries and a full live well but i would only top out at 32-33. I think my prop was a 13
Bushbeater Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I had a Pro 17 years back, it came with a 14 but I had to switch to a 13 for the reasons described.

Whatever it came with from the factory in 08. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I cant remember what mine came with, Mine never seemed like weight was an issue. That little 4 stroke would run the same speed no matter how i loaded it down.
fishinwrench Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 If your top end RPM is still 5000+ then you can help by moving some weight forward. Otherwise, dropping down a pitch on the prop is all you can do to help it.

Yeah, I'm still topping out at about 5800rpm -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I think peak rpm in that motor is 6000. That's what mine would hit with the prop that came on my 08. I guessing yours must have a bigger prop than mine had. 37mph is really good for that set up. Most people don't see much more than 35
jdmidwest Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I have an 08 Crappie Pro 175 with a 4 stroke 50 Merc and it is slow to come out of the hole. They put a 21 gallon fuel tank all the way back, very tail heavy. When it gets up it runs around 32 mph at 6000 rpm. I have no idea the pitch on the prop, half of the numbers did not stamp well and are filled in with paint to make a blur. Crappie Pro has a more pronounced V in the front than the Pro Team Hull with a step in the back. My older Pro 17 with a 35 Merc 2 stroke used to pop right up.
