oghfm
Went to Truman yesterday, hooked up w/ cousin Leon, looking for the crappie thump. Got a serious lesson from cuz! Same bait, same cedar trees, he had braided line I had flouro coated. His home lake. He said the bite was really slow. Mighta been on his pole, it was nonexistent on mine. Me thinks I don't like cedars or Truman or possibly both. It was an education. Switched to his setup which was a Big Bites 1/8 ounce jig with a hook big enough for blue cat. He caught over half a limit, then made me take them home. Probably thought they were all I'd catch this year. I did tailhook a one-eyed channel and begged to keep him but cuz wouldn't allow him in the livewell. Also took home a sunburn. Humbled Hickabilly, straw hat, tho1mas and 2 others
Members lundone
We have all had those days! Sometimes it makes no difference what you do, God just doesn't want you catching fish.
Ranger520vx
I'm a big fan of braid on my crappie rod, been using it for the last 5 years. It seems to me like it almost doubles your ability to feel the bite.
MOPanfisher
I have been on both ends of that situation, one is a lot of fun, the other SUCKS! With any luck I will be again. Flysmallie and Daryk Campbell Sr

It looked like a rope sinking in the lake but I can't argue w/ the results
Kramr
You can always use braid with a short fluorocarbon leader. Best of both worlds. oghfm
