Good lookin group for just getting it today. Man wrench your gonna end up spending more time tweaking and shooting than you think. In my home, it got to where i found myself in the basement shooting 100 rounds twice a day for a few weeks. My wife invited me to go shopping with her 2 weeks ago. I kindly declined as thats not my joy, tho i should have went to support her, but anyways, when she returned 2 hours later, walked downstairs and asked "have you moved once since i left?". It was then that i realized im in over my head. In my first week of getting back into it, as i posted at the beginning of this thread, i went from 0 to 5 guns. They are all different, and shoot different, but that was a little overboard even to me.  But its not costing my family any money out of our budget, as i will do a side job to offset the cost.

Let me know when your ready for a day of plinking. I know aarchdale will join in if hes not in KS working.

Yeah nobody's boat got finished today, sorry about that.

Got her zeroed in tight, and got the trigger set where I like it.  Killed a bunch of cans and did some impact testing (that sucker packs a serious punch).

Found a muscle in my arm pit that I apparently don't use often enough, feels like it is connected to my balls

How many grandkids do you have or expect in the future?  That is how I tend to justify my collection of knives, fishing rods, fly rods, boats, airguns, firearms, camping gear.  I started using the excuse of son inlaws this year for firearms and it seems to work well.  I never seem to pass up a good deal if I see one.

Yours must be longer, mine only goes to the rib cage.  They do tend to give one arm a workout.  Be glad when the grand kid gets a set so he can cock them.

My next goal is a PCP.  But unless I invest in a really expensive air compressor, I will be using an expensive bicycle pump.  At least it will work out a different set of muscles.

Let's see 'em!   :)

I'll be getting at least 2 more I think.  One for the kid and another one for me that has a sweet set of irons.

          JD,

I have an uncle and a friend who both have that type of air gun. They both started with the hand pumps and both said no way ever again. Uncle has a tank he bought with an air gun name. Buddy bought a scuba tank. Both of them get them charged at a scuba or paintball store. My uncle claims some fire departments will charge the tanks for a nominal fee.  I would also like to jump on the air gun bandwagon but have too many hobbies right now. Not ready to give one up to gain another right now,

What kinda pressure are we talking with the PCP's ?

I assume that my shop compressor (170psi) isn't enough ?

If you spent 10 minutes playing with one you'd be hooked.   I'm having way more fun with this thing than I ever did with my big boy guns.

No, not enough.  We are talking scuba tank air pressure.  2500 to 3000 psi.  It takes a special filtered compressor.  Like BH says, either buy a tank and have it filled elsewhere, bicycle pump it, or buy a nice hi dollar compressor.  It takes a big monetary commitment.

Upside, real pressure that equals the firepower of a powder rifle with multiple shots.  No cocking, pumping, or jacking around for about 20 full power shots.  A real hunting weapon. Quiet and deadly.
