Are the hourly weigh-ins broadcast on the radio?

We text as mentioned and we also have a live leaderboard with weights in real time that refreshes every 15 seconds on your phone.

It's a well-conducted derby and hopefully the March dates won't conflict with the spawn. We don't usually see many spawning fish in March.

I would venture to say that since weigh-in is located in the lower section of the lake the lions share of participants are fishing in the vicinity of the dam. Being that is the biggest and deepest part of the lake means it is typically the last section of the lake have significant warming trends and then to see the fish spawn. I've been fishing that part of the lake for over 25 years now and in a typical year you will catch some already spawning in late March. But the majority of the bass in the dam area spawn from late April to late May.  Water will be nice and cool that's for sure, so shouldn't have much of a problem keeping those fish perky in the livewells and upon release.

Good luck to all that are fishing it.
