It was brutal on Saturday with the wind and "Cabin Cruisers" and Branson ducks around the Branson Belle area.  Wasn't very safe at times.  It would be nice to see dual weigh in locations or like Jerry said, somewhere mid lake.  But this being a BP sponsored event I see the reason for where it is located.  It plays a huge part in strategy though with that weigh in location.  It was still a great event and will be back next year for sure.

We certainly understand the ask for multiple locations or mid lake, it’s simply not going to happen at any point in the foreseeable future. If you’ve seen our setup you understand that it can’t be replicated in multiple locations and the logistics with our equipment, staff, etc simply won’t allow it. Not to mention we love the facility at Long Creek and the staff treats our anglers and tournament staff like royalty. That’s home base.

We appreciate everyone who’s a part of the event each year!

I fished it last year and whole heartedly agree there needs to be more weigh in locations. If not to increase participation, for the safety of folks fishing should the wind blow. A little consideration in weigh spots would go a long way.

I can only imagine the decrease in big bass bash participation if you could only weigh at coconuts in the gravois arm at l of o.

See my post above related to multiple weigh in locations. Also, our participation has increased each year, so a single weigh in location hasn’t impacted our growth on a significant level.

Thanks for the feedback regardless.

Playing devils advocate here BBT, so if your numbers dropped over 50% next year due to your stance on not making weighin more friendly, what would your group then do?

Well since this has always been our position it’s highly unlikely. Table Rock is the only location where this even comes up and it’s because many have fished the Big Bass Bash events and that’s what they’re used to.

I honestly did not mean anything bad at all about my original multi weigh in post.  I Loved the Event and it was awesome how everyone made me feel up there.  To get to feel like a pro going across that stage and getting checks is a pretty cool feeling. I completely understand the need to keep it where it is and the logistics of the entire event. I was simply thinking out loud how much different our strategy would have been had it not been all the way at long creek. We had 1 very dangerous run all weekend and it was to the 3 o'clock weigh in saturday simply because of the wind and it being a warmer day where the LARGE boats decided to get out and about also. Sunday wasnt nearly as bad. It will NOT keep me from fishing it again next year as I wish it was already here.  Great Job to Everyone involved.

Not knocking the event either ... Mark and crew do an excellent job in every way possible. But multiple weigh-in locations would also be easier on the fish that are being transported such a long way. Anglers need to take every precaution to not bang them around whether traveling to weigh-in by water or land. Without the fish, there's no tournament. In fact, there's no sport.
