Do you know anything about the population of snow geese and what they are doing to their breeding grounds? Since you are so good at research you should do just that, OK Skippy , BilletHead 2 hours ago, jdmidwest said: Sky Carp...... You could lay out a hundred fields like that and only improve the other Waterfowl. 1 hour ago, slothman said: Truth. Ironically its "always" another critters "fault" isn't it? killing off all the squirrels will never equal more rabbits or deer... killing all the geese will not make more ducks.... its a pattern that repeats itself throughout wildlife management history.... when someone kills 1000 waterfowl and buries them in a ditch, or dumps them in a pile on the side of the road, it gives the ammo to take away everyone's outdoor privileges..... Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 25, 2017 Root Admin Posted December 25, 2017 There's no imit on snows and blues.... and the piles of ducks and geese - my friends killed that many yesterday (42 ducks and some geese). There were 7 hunters. 42 was their limit of ducks. awhuber and BilletHead 2

I am glad your friends ae doing well to our West. They can kill five mallards also in their six birds to our four here in the Mississippi flyway. More Canada geese in the daily and possession limits too, BilletHead My point is that killing "sky carp" will not make more mallards.....the reason for the liberalization of goose hunting rules is more to protect tundra habitat and stop the dwindling population of some other shore birds (certain rail species) the geese have adapted to take advantage of mans land use.... that with Post-glacial rebound ( the rise of land masses that were depressed by the huge weight of ice sheets during the last ice age) through a process known as isostatic depression, this has been reducing habitat (along with sea level rise) once sickness hits the goose populations it will crash..its natures way. what usually happens is once waterfowl populations drop, people will cry about what cause it..... snows, blues, and white fronted geese are not "sky carp" and once the populations reach equilibrium the reputation of them being good for nothing but compost will carry over... I have no issue with killing critters, use them is some way.....and try not to inflame the earth 1st wackos I assume the worst in people because thats what we see....95% of people are great its that 5% that do us in,... game hogging....littering....poaching My Brother is a duck hunting fool..has been for 30 years..I have duck hunted more than my share....can tell you a bazillion stories of guys getting busted breaking the rules duck hunting...... understanding the vast complexness of a biome and its interactions is a moving target nothing is set in stone.... The liberal killing is needed to control the population and protect the breeding grounds for all other waterfowl. I do agree the piles of carcasses do not promote a sporting image most believe in. But there are those that use social media in ways I don't approve of daily. It does tend to project the wrong image.
