In my humble opinion between Larry Gale and Linn Creek is some of the best water on the lake. But if you want to make the run it's no big deal.

Are you fishing the uaw local 2250 tournament on March 25?

No March 10.

Thanks for the advise, and help will let you know. I not really interested in running that far, I was just trying to confirm the information I had figured. I understand the mental aspect. I just need to learn the area. I need to put my head down and concentrate and shut up and fish.

I think you are wise to put in some time around Larry Gale and see what you can come up with. Back in my Central Pro-Am days, we usually had our March tournament up there every year. For at least the last 3-4 years, I ran from PB2 to the Nianguas every year because as someone mentioned earlier, there was slightly warmer water up there. If the water starts approaching 50, don't be afraid to slow-roll a spinnerbait around shallow wood and docks. I finished fourth in the CPA event up there one year doing just that, then Donna and I went back up there the next day in the CPA Team derby and finished third. Both sacks were over 20 pounds.

The only problem the Niangua area has is the same problem the Gravois arm has, in that every weekend (and several evenings during the week) it loses fish, and only very rarely are any fish brought back into it.  But for the last 4-5 years the lower lake (from the dam to the 8mm) and the Glaize near PB2 has been getting the Lions share of the fishing pressure, so the Niangua's have had some time to rebound.  The people that live up there are all about crappie, so the bass really don't have as much pressure on them as you might think.

PB2 was mixing chocolate milk last Saturday but it’ll move lower. I’d stay UP Niangua somewhere.

I hope your tournament is not this weekend. Most of the day the winds been howling on the Gravois and I guess most of the rest of the lake. Al,moss 4pm and the temperature is 35 degrees with 3 short periods of large snow flakes blowing sideways. Going to maybe take a bit of time to recover from this.
