Five Questions On Crappie Fishing

I got my grandkids coming in for a few days in about a week. I got 4 dozen minnows down there right now. That is the first time I have bought any in a long time myself. When fishing under light at night is about as close as I come to using bait provided Is scooping up those little shad.Past year 2 years I have not had many shad coming in under the light but have swans of those Silver Side minnoiws. I just hate those things. 

This year I am having a hard time even getting interested in crappie fishing. Seems to be some attitude change that I sure do not like. Both my neighbor and my friend from Kirksville are almost pure crappie fishermen. Must be the health stuff this past 2 years and my 78 yrs catching up. Truly it is a very scary thing to be loosing any interest in fishing. I just get tired and bored real fast. I hope to go Bass fishing in the next day or so but am not at all that excited about it.

OK, the results are inconclusive.  Rick and I fished Wappappello on Saturday.  Now he and Billy pulled 56 out of there a week or two before but the water was high and the current would not allow us to control the depth of our bait and boat control was a major factor.  We heard that Clearwater was on fire so we went there on Sunday.  There were a lot of boats but everyone we spoke to said "you should have been here last week."  I caught two and Rick caught four -- decent thick and healthy fish, though.

Candy came home from the hospital and until she is able to get around after the hip surgery my fishing is on hold.

But I spent some quality time with her chicken-!@#$ little dog.  She had no experience with this lifestyle and she did ok and did what I told her.
