River Jon - Oars...Your preference for style and why

For those of you that have oars on your river jon.
What do you like and why. I had Carlisle Composites on my stealthcraft and am looking to get a pair for my 2160.

Sometimes its nicer to just hit the oars instead of firing up the motor and I was curious what you guys that have on your river jon?
Do you prefer a shoal cut or the Dynalite narrower style for the longer river jons?

Most of the guys that are truly good "on the sticks" prefer longer oars.    For my 1642' Jon I like 8 footers that have beefy narrow blades.  Nice and sturdy because I dig into the gravel in skinny fast spots.

I'm a hack at the rowing game.

Just getting my Jon rigged with oats. Went with some 8' Carlyle utility oars & NRS horns. Not happy with that setup. Oars are too low. Have to avoid my kneecaps. Will get some tubes bent & welded to the gunwhales to raise the pivot point and put some bushings in there to secure the oar horns. Work in progress, but no time to devote to it for two months. 17x47 paddle Jon, 32 bottom. 55lb thrust TM on 12v will push it for 5-6 hrs. Might be cheaper to buy an extra battery.

The ONLY reason I do not own a drift boat is that I know who would be rowing...... The best oars are the ones someone else are using...... I will be so happy to add you to the list..LOL.... If I were a guide that would be the best out there.... well maybe a Minnkota Ultrex?  I do have a few friends who enjoy boat work more than fishing.... I will ask them...OH the Nature Coast.. we need to talk ole buddy...

Me too..

I find I use them for quick adjustments. I'm not a guide so I think I qualify as a hack as well!

Some day when I will have the trolling motor added. My next additions are the electric anchor and adding the oar block and oars. I had the boat built with the reinforcements for the oar blocks, so its ready to just bolt on.

Not enough, never enough, but learning. Love the area.  If you have not closed your purchase, may I suggest the requirement of a RV hook up....leaving 78 and sunny to return to 45 and rain was very unpleasant. very very
