fowlthing Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Caught 10 in two hours and 20 minutes. One barely 15, the rest 14 or so. All on Spro rock crawler... in two spots. Got 4 in 6 casts. Casting up shallow and bouncing off brush etc. I have seldom stayed with any crank bait longer than 10 minutes. Trying to expand my comfort zone. Looking forward to visiting Saturday. and having an excuse to fish all day. Carl W, Quillback, magicwormman and 3 others 6
m&m Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Fowlthing, thanks for the information. I will try to go tomorrow morning out of Big M. Mike
Carl W Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Thanks for sharing. That is what I fished with on Saturday and did pretty good. I am like you and feel like I am learning how to fish a crank bait and it helps a bunch that they are biting it right now. Champ188 1
TRRANGER Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Chunking and winding cranks is some times a misinformation for guys that are learning. You have to give that bait a twitch a pull a stop a go. With lures like the crawler and wart a lot of times the bite is very subtle when fishing this time of year, it just quits vibrating, or you hang it up on a rock or wood when you let your line go slack to get it to float off watch you line before you start reeling again, fish and usually the better ones will be waiting. Just another tip you almost cant reel one to slow, get it down and slow down and let it hit and bang into everything you can. magicwormman, Champ188, Daryk Campbell Sr and 4 others 7
