JestersHK Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 The River Monster guy has a new series out called Mighty Rivers. Last nights episode he was chasing Huchen on the Danube river. Sent me on a google search to figure out 1. What the heck a Huchen is LOL, and 2. How much would a charter be to go chase them I know the shows are a pain to watch sometimes, but man those were some big fish from the salmon family. The show right after had some guy in the middle of Mongolia catching Siberian Trout called a Tamien or river Wolf. Things can get up to 6 feet long and although the guys accent and schtick was old after 5 minutes it was cool to see them stripping big flys and catching some amazing fish. Had fish on the brain last night, but if you guys get a chance check them out. Johnsfolly and Ham 2
Quillback Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 I remember a bit of a Taimen craze when I lived in Washington State, some fishing tour group was putting together fishing trips to go to Mongolia to chase those things, I took one look at the $$$ and quickly realized it was not something I was going to do. I think we should petition AGFC to get some Taimen fry, start a hatchery program, and start stocking them in the White river below Bull Shoals. JestersHK 1
Quillback Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Here's an interesting fish you don't hear much about, but lives in Alaskan rivers. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=sheefish.main JestersHK and Ham 1 1

Never got after them. JestersHK and Ham 2

I think it would much more reasonable to stock 100 12 inch long Musky. 🤪 Johnsfolly, Quillback and JestersHK 2 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
