First time i retired i was 55 and then went on SS at 62, and it has it's ups and downs, i live by myself with no one to answer too anyway again congrats. magicwormman Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Congratulation on the retirement! Yes, there is a GOD! I think you will love every minute of it. I had the blessing of having a summer home on the Rock for about 30 years and have been a permanent resident for the last 15 years. I sent you a PM.
rps Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Good for you Rodmaker! I retired from my first career at 52. I just could not stand lawyers anymore. I am now 15 years into my second career and have signed the contract to teach next year. The beautiful wife also teaches and has declared next year will be her last. As for learning the tricks of this lake, you will have it figured out (most of the time) within a year. magicwormman, vernon and Carl W 3
m&m Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Rodmaker, congratulations on the retirement. We also had a home built and I was a pain in the rump for the builder because I stayed involved in every aspect from design to completion. If you’ve never had a house built, invest your time into the process. When it is over, you can spend time fishing instead of punch like st stuff. Mike magicwormman and Carl W 2
skeeter Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Rodmaker….If you were like most working guys with a M-F work-day schedule you had the motto: TGIF quickly followed by OHIM ( O he** it's Monday ). You'll probably quickly switch the days out in those Acronyms now that you are going to retire here. Congrats and welcome !!
Carl W Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Congratulations! I am a long ways from retirement myself. Maybe I will see you around.

Members Rob Jr Posted May 17, 2018 Members Posted May 17, 2018 Congrats on the retirement. I pulled the trigger 6 years ago, and have enjoyed it. As far as finding time to fish after retire ment; the high water last year hurt me. I only made it out on the water 72 times. Patlock, vernon and magicwormman 3
