Members Wetfeet Posted May 23, 2018 Members Posted May 23, 2018 Took my Dad and Grandad out today! We put in at Roark and headed west under the power lines and spent most of our time just south of the lines. Both my Dad and Grandad love catching walleye so that what we tried for. This was only the 4th time I have ever been on Stockton so we did not do any good. We fished everything from 10'-30' we tried trolling, vertical jigging and casting but came up empty handed. Now that I have a boat and live only 40 minutes from the lake I plan on spending allot more time on the water! I am determined to figure the walleye and crappie out! All in all I feel very blessed to have spent time on the water with my dad and Grandad! Hopefully I can put them on fish next time!
MOPanfisher Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Don't be afraid to switch it up if your chosen quarry isn't cooperating. Sounds like bass are tearing it up abut now.
Ketchup Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Im going to get a few mapped areas together for ya and PM to you tomorrow as far as walleye go. Like MO. said sometimes searching out other species can save the day. Bass are about everywhere an angler can get a boat right now. Old dog 417 and mikeak 2 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Members walleye4butch Posted May 24, 2018 Members Posted May 24, 2018 I was at Stockton last thurs. fri and Saturday walleye were slow I managed a couple of limits using bottom bouncers in googer creek anywhere from 9-16 ft depth. I also use a weight forward spinner { erie dearie, pygmy hot n tot etc chatreuse color with half a crawler} fishing main lake points the walleye were picky but the ones we caught were 17-18 inch average, hope this helps you guys out. wtr dogs, "eyes"haveit, terryj1024 and 1 other 4

Members Dgasser Posted May 24, 2018 Members Posted May 24, 2018 Unlucky, I limited out on 4 nice walleye in less than 2 hours. Caught 7 keepers and a few nice crappie. The water was so clear that you need to have a lot of line out. I was 120’ out trolling 1.4 mph in 9-12’ water. They were only hitting the crowded color Old dog 417 and terryj1024 1 1
