Members Hungupagain
My girlfriend and I are looking to float from La Russell to hwy 37 and just looking for any input from others that have floated it. Mostly concerned about possible portages due to downed trees. I do not mind having to drag around some trees, and expect it on a river with no outfitters, but my girlfriend really does not enjoy it much. This will be our first time on the Spring river and we are both looking forward to fishing some new water!
MoCarp
trees can be an issue....be safe as last thing you want is get jammed up in current, ..that being said great fishing in that stretch, big crappie in the shaded brush, smallies, in rocky riffle areas... largemouth in the slow sections of holes, prob catch some catfish on lures, tiny Torpedos on top, a catch all is big beetle spins, I know its an old lure but will catch keeper crappie and 5# bass, rebel craws for SMB the water will have some color to it, we might have some rain in the next couple of days and it can stain the water MOstreamer 1 MONKEYS? what monkeys? I think there is a float trip service in the area, but I am not sure of the name.

5bites
I used to camp on the first property west of the bridge. Nunny, the old guy that owned it would mow the corner we camped in prior to us getting there. He was an awesome guy and raised his family going to that camping spot for decades. Anyway I used to pitch a jig around the wood on that stretch. We never went to far down so I’ve probably only seen about 3/4 of a mile of that stretch. I can’t remember any riffles that caused any problems. I do know a buzzbait has caught lots of fish through there too. Enjoy it. If everyone appreciated it, it could be a special place. dan hufferd, MoCarp and MOstreamer
