Always thought the scarcity of Smallies in TR back then was strange since they inhabited the River prior to its damming.
Deadstream Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 I wouldn't think so on the same body of water. No "kinda" about it, it either is or it isn't.

Royal Blue Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 How is it illegal to take one to a weigh in and release it? That's what we did.
tjm Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Tournaments have a special dispensation. But as an individual I must either release immediately or keep. They said that is so I can't haul one around a while and turn it loose to keep a bigger one, but I think it means I can't haul one around and turn it loose at all. That's what it says any way. Just fish and fish laws, & I don't care, so carry on.

It's here some where; https://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/3csr/3csr.asp The kinda part is I have read that you are OK if you don't get caught. Ever wonder if kids read these forums?

Ever wonder if kids read these forums? 3 CSR 10-6.505 Black Bass. here you are since you did not take time to search for it. so, to further answer your question, are you not moving bass from one place to another when fishing a tournament? if that was against mdc regulations, then all tournament fishing would be illegal. but we have tournaments on the lake all the time. that alone should answer your question. bo

Just fish and fish laws, & I don't care, so carry on. the mdc has a no cull rule. which means that you can not keep your limit and than cull what is already in possession. they now allow some culling for tournaments, but it is only applies for certain months. so, actually back in the day, everyone one of us was guilty of culling up in a tournament. now to further clarify the rules for you. if you keep your legal limit, you are legal to either kill them or let them go if you so wish. putting a legal fish in the livewell does not mean a death sentence for the bass. bo Deadstream, 176champion, vernon and 2 others 4 1
