No more co-anglers. They are doing marshals now and they add up the weight of the pros the marshals are paired with each day for a cash prize. Kinda of a crapshoot for the marshals but i guess its cool they can actually win some money. And every day you marshal you get an entry for a boat at the end of the year.

Seems like the marshalls will have a conflict of interest when it comes to enforcing the rules. The Marshall makes money if his pro does well? Seems like a good reason to let an infraction slide.

Good point there, even though I don't suspect much cheating going on at that level.   Might be better to reward the Marshalls with the LOWEST weight combined.

Especially since, in theory, they would be the ones that potentially learned the least/had the worst day on the water in service of the organization.

Surely no angler would cheat?

Can't fathom why anyone would choose to participate in a sport where they had to cheat in order to do well.    If it's about MONEY then there are way easier avenues than competitive fishing to be shady and make money.

Maybe there should be a NO RULES tournament circuit.  Allow everyone to do ANYTHING and see who can stay alive, out of jail, and come in with the 5 biggest bass before the sun sets.  The only rule is the fish have to be alive.

You would hope not. I don’t think blatant “cheating” might take place, but I could see minor rules infractions being overlooked by a marshall “on the bubble” for a check.
