Johnsfolly Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I've replaced one already using the warranty. No questions asked. I was able to get the warranty on the replacement.
Gatorjet Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Well, you guys made me do it! Plus both BPS, and Cabela's have free shipping right now. I need another jig rod like I need another nose. But I just ordered a 6 1/2' Airstream, and from Cabela's the Phlueger Summet XT they have on sale. Had about six bucks in points at Cabela's so the reel only cost me thirty bucks. Members Brennan Posted November 27, 2018 Author Members Posted November 27, 2018 I picked all three rods up today and feel like, for under 40 bucks apiece, I did OK. I really like the seven footer. I think it will be great for the jig and float technique on Taneycomo, and would be a decent light Ned rig rod/grub Swimming rod as well. I think all three will have a place in my trout fishing arsenal. Thanks for all your input. Ham 1
dan hufferd Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 I bought one of these a couple years ago, the more I use it the more I like it. Only gripe is the handle is a little long. 8'2" classic black $55. I recon this is too heavy. http://fishoutlaw.com/shop/
Gatorjet Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Update, Bass Pro informed me last week that they were canceling my order because the rod had been backordered for 30 days. I checked their website yesterday, and although the 6'6" is still not in stock it is available on backorder. At $ 2 more than the previous sale price that they cancelled the backorder on. kinda easy to see why JM is the Five Billion Dollar Man he is! My own feelings are that I shouldn't fall for his bait and switch game, but I really would like to try this rod. So I swallowed my pride, and ordered one again anyway. At leadt I used some Cabella's points I had, and had it shipped to the store free. So it's only costing me about fifteen bucks. If I get it this time! Real men go propless!
Seth Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I hate to hear that Bob. I've ran in to issues with them not being in stock as well in the past. I'm not sure if they are just in that high of demand or what, but I ended up getting store credit for a broken one and then got lucky and stumbled across them on sale at the Columbia BPS store and got two for $20 more than the price of one at full price.
