merc1997 Bo Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 got out a couple of days before the artic air hit. had a decent day friday with 10 keepers, and scrounged out 5 on saturday. did not catch one bass saturday where we caught them friday. pretty typical for table rock, here today gone tomorrow. we caught nearly all them on a doodle. nothing up on the bank. most bites were in the 10 to 20 ft. range. friday, we did have a couple of 3's and one saturday. we did catch several shorts both days. so, at least enough to keep you a bit warmer. it was cold all day friday. so, was expecting an even better bite saturday. could have been so but stayed too long fishing where we caught them friday. made a little adjustment later in the afternoon and found some willing. i did catch two of the keeps friday on a long bill rebel. bo bobby b., m&m, Dock-in-it and 2 others 5
Dock-in-it Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Bo-doodle does it again.... good job. How bad is the bottom green slime in the depth range you are fishing? In the Kim City area it is a nuisance at least out to 10ft. I fished Friday and Saturday morning. On Friday morning, I had 5 keepers and blanked on Saturday morning doing the same technique in the same general area. Caught my fish slow rolling a 2.8 swimbait on 1/4oz head scrubbing the bottom.

Not in his repertoire. well, i hate to blank, but sometimes not blanking has a lot to do with picking the day and time you are going to go fishing. and, yes i have blanked lots of times, but hopefully i've learned a lot over the years. so, being able to pick when you are fishing helps a bunch. picking the area of the lake you are fishing is another benefit. on a lake the size of table rock, the bass just are not biting everywhere. what the bass are feeding on is another big key. right now, many bass in the lake are keying on very small crawdads. when their inner lips are red, they are crawdading. you just have to begin each trip with a blank slate. saturday, i did not clean the slate off early enough and stuck too long with areas that produced on friday. making a change earlier in the day might have upped the catching on saturday. catching fish is really a mental game as much or more so than the physical aspect. i witness way too many folks that are fishing run and gun all day trying to catch bass the way THEY want to catch them, but you need to fish in ways that allow you to catch them. bo Dock-in-it, magicwormman, Johnsfolly and 2 others 5

Well said. This time of year, water temps can vary 6-8 degrees depending on area of the lake. Knowing where the warmer water is can be the difference in having a pretty good day or going fishless. liphunter, merc1997 Bo, magicwormman and 3 others 6
Dutch Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Reading this is making me want to get back on the water. As soon as they let me out of here I want to drag the old Nitro down to Cape Fair and wet a line. Bo your reports really get me going. liphunter and Johnsfolly 2
