Dutch Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I am going to camp at Stockton State Park for a few days and see if I can find some green or brown fish. I'll be in a red and gray Nitro Z 20 if any of you guys are around there.
liphunter Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I plan on going to Stockton Monday. But I haven't decided where to go or what to fish for yet. Love to bass fish, But really would like a mess of crappie with a walleye kicker. Most likely outcome, the way it's been going for me. Is I will have to get chicken on the way home. lol oghfm, Old dog 417, BilletHead and 1 other 1 2 1 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Lifes2Short Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Went out today out of Roark Bluff and had a pretty tough day. We caught a ton of white bass only because my partner wanted to take some home. We ended up with a half a dozen bass and four keeper crappie but it was a pretty tough day up in Sons Creek. Tight Lines! P. S. The water up in the creek is 58 to 60. dan hufferd and liphunter 2
Skeeter ZX190 Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I put in at Hawker and first went to Googer. After that I went up Sons Creek. I was looking, but never saw you Lifes2Short. I started fishing about 9:00 am and quit around 6:30 pm. I did pull out of Hawker around 4:00 and drove to Stockton for a bite and then put in at Orleans Trail. Glad I did. I had only caught 9 fish from 9:00 until 4. Caught 11 more from 4:00 until 6:30. Everything came on the ned except a white bass on a jerkbait. Probably the most vicious bite I've ever had on a jerkbait. All in all I had 20. Two of them were white bass, a channel cat and everything else were bass (smallmouth, spots, and largemouth.) Maybe even a meanmouth. Not one would keep except the 2 spots I caught since they only have to be 12 inches. I am really out of practice. I had more "swing and misses" than I care to admit. Also broke 4 off on the hookset. Me thinks I need to spool some new fluorocarbon. Near as I could tell, the best spots were on points in 5 to 12 feet of water. Water temps were 55.5 to 58.5. liphunter and Lifes2Short 1 1
Dutch Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Thanks guys that is some encouraging news. I'm going to be there 4 to 5 days and hope to get on some kind of pattern as well as spend time learning how the new birds react to the MK.
Dutch Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 ZX 190 maybe loosen up the drag if you are using that sissy 6# like I do.
Dutch Posted April 22, 2019 Author Posted April 22, 2019 I only got to fish for 4 hours this morning. I am nursing a shoulder injury from a farming accident. In that time I had 8 brown fish and 2 green keepers. All came on ned in 5 to 10 fow on points. Water temperature is 56 degrees. liphunter and 97procraft 2
liphunter Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Thanks Dutch. You did better than me. I had several short smallies on the ned and a couple of short LM on on the RC over in the Maze creek area. oh, and the chicken was over cooked!😒 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
