dan hufferd Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 I am really enjoying my 4 piece travel pole, it is a Basspro 6'6" medium fast, I paired it with a Lews 200 series reel. It brakes down to something under 24". Anyway..after taking my wife out to breakfast, I decided to stop by Jones creek to see if I could feed the fish. I caught a couple small bass then this guy, I thought this fish was just beautiful !. It was a nice way to start a Sunday, then it was off to sunday school and worship. jdmidwest Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 I like the Lews spin reels. Best bang for money. Shimanos have been dropping like flies lately. I can get them in a few trips with what they put out for less than $75 bucks. But that Lews has been going strong this season. dan hufferd 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Ham Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Pretty little guy for sure. Pfluegers have been great value for the money to me. I’m all about Lew’s Bait casters , nut I think I’m done with their spinning reels. I had one good one and then 3 lemons. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. My son bought a Pflueger this time, I have several of the Lews spinning reels of different price points, it seems like the small reverse thread nut below the spool wants to back off on a couple models, it is irritating to fumble with while on the water. I am going to try a small drop of lock tight. I guess I am going to have to grow up and learn to run a casting reel.😁 on my spinners i get good distance and excellent feel with braid and a leader, i just have found not found the same sensitivity with a bait caster. I can't make myself drop a bunch of money on a combo though.
