Dutch Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 When you sell a hand gun to an individual? I am planning to sell my Ruger and thinking about advertising it here. I’m not sure what I need to do.
MOPanfisher Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Dutch, I think the only requirement on a private sale is the buyer must be 18 yrs of age. ? ? ?
Hunter75 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Just make sure the person you are selling to is able to own a gun, don't sell to minor or convicted felon. Its a good idea to print off a bill of sale and have them sign it so you can prove the sale was made and you no longer own the gun. awhuber 1

Haven't really kept up on all the gun laws, is a minor not allowed to own a powder burner anymore? I owned 4 before I ever had a driver's license, and my oldest daughter had 2 before she graduated high school. If you sell a firearm and write up a bill of sale, how long should you keep your copy? For the rest of your life? Are you now required to do a background check on someone before selling them a firearm? Make sure they aren't on anti-depressants, have any psychologist appointments, or have never bounced a check? This is why I like airguns so much, same amount of enjoyment (more actually) without all the hoops and hassles.

MOPanfisher Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Bill of Sale would be a good idea. If I were selling and someone refused to sign a bill of sale it would be over right then and there.
ness Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 After reading all this, I think I'd just keep the dang thing John

I just want to sell it the correct way. Maybe I had better just call the Greene County Sherrif’s Office and ask them. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
MOPanfisher Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 You are killing me what ya got to sell. Can't imagine why I would need or want a pistol but I just might.
