netboy Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 I made a few trips to the Spring river recently since the White has been just a tad high for wading with the fly rod😄. Fishing has been good with lots of stocker rainbows, a few browns and some better rainbows in the mix. I've seen some really nice rainbows on redds which is normal for this time of year. There are also some nice fish holding below the redds waiting for eggs to flow down with the current. That was the case yesterday and a Y2K was the perfect fly for that type of fishing. It is fun to watch the fish on the redds as the male will chase any other trout that come near the redd and then return to his spot behind the female. Also fun to fish the trout below the redds as it is mostly sight fishing and you can see the takes. Here's a few pics, first one is 2 rainbows on a redd. The male looked to be around 20". Other 2 are colored up males that were holding below the redds.   Daryk Campbell Sr, BilletHead, laker67 and 6 others 9 Â
fishinwrench Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Beautiful fish if not for those jacked up tails. Â
Ham Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 My understanding is that the water chemistry is wrong for successful spawning of the Rainbows. Which is a shame . Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
