oneshot Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I have not much use of my Left Arm. I can hold a Gun up bracing my Left Elbow on my Chest this has always worked good with Rifles but not real good with Heavy 12Ga. Shotguns. As I have posted before I have a 20Ga. Full Choke, with Scope I use with Slugs. Thinking of just using it. Got a Modern 12Ga. But it is just too heavy. Got a Light 12Ga. Muzzleloader, it shoots out 40 yards great but like I say it is light as matter fact too light. So need to figure out a Gun. Calls I no longer have teeth so I can’t get a Diaphragm Call to work. So I’m using either Slat or Box. It is much easier for me to set on a Stool I have then setting on the ground. I know it would be better hunting from a Blind but I’m unable to pack it out. Not running and Gunning just can’t no more. Once again open for ideas or forget this and just go Fishing? Killed plenty of Turkeys. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Cleaning/dressing a thunder-chicken with one hand sounds like a PIA. Butterballs are on sale now ! 👍 Daryk Campbell Sr 1
jdmidwest Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I think you need to kick back and heal up. Maybe do some bank fishing somewhere. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
oneshot Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 Well probably be dead before I heal. Going to have to learn to deal with one hand. Going to be better with Deer and one hand. Getting interesting can’t load a Deer with two hands. Can’t jump up on a Tail Gate. I usually tie one leg back when gutting so that should make it easier with one hand. Got a Deer Cart. Have to get a Wench to load one. Oh let’s get back to Turkey. Usually cut unmeaty part of Wings off and Legs. Cut Skin in middle of Breast and pull it around. Haven’t went last few years because of numbers. So might be better idea to go fishing. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr 1
fishinwrench Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Turkey hunting is fun, but it would just get fed to the dog around here unless I was truly hungry and in need of food. Actually I might just eat the dog first. snagged in outlet 3 1
MOPanfisher Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Look at the tripods or even bipod they will support the shotgun and the tripods will hold it in place. Might have a bit of reduction in maneuverability which can be a problem turkey hunting. Lots of turkeys have been killed with a 20 ga.

Actually I might just eat the dog first. Seen bunch just Breast a Bird but my wife beats the Thigs and Legs, breads them and Frys them up. We get 6 meals out of a Bird. Only thing I couldn’t eat was an old Ram. It was just nasty. But yes the dogs ate good. I’ve looked into Tripods and think might as well cut a forked stick and get the Blind out there. Yelp killed many Turkeys with 20Ga. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Have a buddy who uses something similar to this for his young son. Said it is the cats behind for a kid and deer hunting from a blind.
oneshot Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Well my wife said save my money and time go fishing and mushroom hunting. Supposed to see a Doctor on my Shoulder. I’m going to question him ask him what he thinks on it and tell him I need to get on with my life like hunting and fishing. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Tell him to quit dicking around and sign the necessary paperwork to put you on disability. You ain't got no business "carrying weapons for your job" or none of that $#!t. Draw your checks and start tying jigs for those fly shops around there if you need a little extra fishing money. snagged in outlet 3 1
