oneshot
Always just went with regular Rod and Dough Bait and did just fine. But seems like a lot of people take something so simple and make it hard and priced out of a Normal Persons reach. oneshot
Devan S.
You meant to say Americans and bass fishing right? Daryk Campbell Sr

The same got to have $50K Boat and $400 Rod and Reel X 6 , plus hundreds of lures. Everyone knows you can’t catch Bass from the bank with a Beetle Spin. Catch the something out of Trout with 6 pound test line, #6 hook, with worms. oneshot
FishnDave
Some of us here in America also make Carp fishing hard(er). I grew up fishing for carp...my dad had his own special doughball recipe. It was so good, if the fish weren't biting, you could snack on it. 😁 There the carp guys that pre-bait spots and have special rigs to fish baits much like the Europeans. There are guys that catch plenty with a worm and hook/small jighead. I've done this. There are guys that flyfish for them...dropping flies that look like worms, nymphs, leeches, mulberries, or crayfish in front of feeding fish, thus turning the carp into a predator. This is my favorite way. It really made me appreciate the fish a LOT more.
fishinwrench
The Europeans are probably fishing for educated/pressured fish that gave up the "doughball and regular rod" game a long time ago. It's next level stuff. Keep hammering those carp where you fish for them and eventually you'll have to up your game too. 😊 FishnDave

I caught fewer carp this year at the few places I flyfish for them.

tjm
yeah, I remember catching trout in Idaho on dough balls and on bare hooks fished with willer limbs, now all them pork eaters have them trained to only get caught on $1100 fly rods with size #36 hooks Making it harder does two things, It justifies buying extravagant toys and it allows the fisher person to exercise his ego inflation genes. If I was better at fishing I might try catching a carp. Daryk Campbell Sr

It's like the cowbirds and starlings I shoot in the yard with my little BB gun. Pop one or two and suddenly every starling and cowbird in the county won't sit still and give me a shot for 2-3 days. I think there's some telepathy going on that we haven't learned about yet. (I'm actually not joking) Daryk Campbell Sr
