oneshot Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 How many have seen Spoonbill jumping? Was on Lamine River one time setting Trotlines and had Spoonbill jumping all around us. It was so cool. oneshot
Devan S. Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 have seen them quite a bit at Grand Lake in Oklahoma....have never seen it in Missouri.
MOsmallies Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Yep see them jump a lot during the summer on the main channel of Lake of the Ozarks. It can almost be like whale watching.
ollie Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 See then all the time on Grand. Especially up the Spring and Neosho River arms. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 All the time up the James arm in Table Rock
MOPanfisher Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Happens a lot on Truman, can be a bit shocking when a 50# plus spoonbill clears the water 20 feet from you. Seems to be a summer thing.
Members Big Mike Posted February 24, 2020 Members Posted February 24, 2020 happened to me once years ago. I was way up in Flat Creek and had one jump straight out of the water right next to the boat. This was in the middle of the summer in flat calm water and nobody else was around. I never told this story to anyone because didn't think anybody would believe me. I guess its more common than what I thought. Not sure what i would have done with a 50 plus pound spoonie flopping around in the boat. Kind of reminds me of those flying carp. good thing we dont have those yet.
