Off Grid

I know some are thinking of Off Grid Hunting or Fishing Cabins and I'm always surprised of people using Propane or other things to help out.

Last one I check was using Propane and Generator.

Me I used Wood Heat, Gas Lanterns, Outhouse and draw water by Hand.

They make Solar   Refrigerators and Freezers . I really wish I had either Solar or Propane powered  Refrigerator but did ok with Spring House.

A person could use 12v. stuff and just run off Solar Charged Deep Cycle Batteries.

Our first place I built using Chainsaw, Framing Hammer and Gas Lantern. Just matter getting your Head out of your Back Side and figuring stuff out. I've used my Pickup in middle of nowhere  to run my Computer and Phone. Yes if I have no signal stuff don't work but can drink Beer and watch Movies that I rent.

And here we compare the differences between living and surviving.

I did the survival thing for 7 months once. The first 2 were the toughest.  Once it warmed up it wasn't so bad. 

There wasn't any internet, beer or movies 🙄

Well like I told my wife when we first moved here was we needed a Shelter and Water. At first we caught Rain Water. Yes surviving and we did it for 17 years. We didn't have Electric, Phone or Running water. But we had fun. Hardest part was keeping cool at night with no fan. Went swimming in the river, cooled us down enough we could get to sleep.

We didn't miss things because we hadn't had them.

Now our Cabin at the Lake we haul Water and use RV Pump to pump our water. We have Unlimited on our Phones but they don't work in the Cabin but we're going to get a Booster, have our Phones and Internet. That is what we are doing here at the House.

Even Tent Camping we have it made compared to what we did have. Actually very comfortable.

I found I could charge my Laptop on my Pickup enough to watch one movie.

At the time I went Camping it was nice to have Beer and or Whisky.
