N9BOW Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Had to order Some flywheel pullers to get the Tiller tine assembly off. Won’t budge. Have the oil seal ready to go. picked up a LAM broad fork to keep at it while the tiller is being repaired. The thing is a beast... love it
wily Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hope you get it back together soon...I planted cucumbers tonight...I’m not sure my trellis will work so we will see what happens N9BOW 1
budman Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Wily I use a couple of old Cattle panels and they work great. Been using the same ones for at least 15 years. But going to have to put some fencing around my garden this year because the deer found my purple hull peas last year. They don't eat the plants just the pods, and only the ones about ready to be picked. N9BOW, wily and Terrierman 3

I’ve started tilling with the blades going forward...My tiller jumps quite a bit when the tines are spinning forward but seems to be doing a good job...hopefully the more I do it...the less it will jump dogs sure like running thru the fresh dirt I spent a lot of years with a garden tiller and have a rocky old garden, fixing it back up and welding on it etc. What I found I had to do was throttle it down and not hold it nearly so tightly, kind of let it kick up a little bit or it would beat you to death when it hits a rock. Now the tractor mounted roto tiller, heck I just love tilling up gardens with it. Terrierman and N9BOW 2

Yup!!!! kinda like running a floor polisher.. the tighter you hang and the more downward pressure you put on a tiller tines (Until you get some depth) its a ride.....Golly bob howdy..Its a ride... I think that why they called my model the Super Bronco!!!! My Grandpas garden in the upper north east was shaley soils.... learned a lesson or three! Had a 3pt tiller on my 2640..That was the bomb!
MOPanfisher Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I think mine is a BRonco as well, and yeah well named. When younger I decided I could force it to do what I wanted through pure strength and cussedness, I did accomplish it jumping sideways enough a few times to eat some plants. It does a good job when I am patient, sadly I am NOT known for patience. LOL N9BOW 1
N9BOW Posted April 25, 2020 Author Posted April 25, 2020 I love listening to these guys!.. the Row by Row the Garden Show on YouTube 18:45 for the best line of the show.. "I may have to go down to the pond to wash my rear end" God Lovem!
MOPanfisher Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Well I have embarked on a new type of gardening sick regular garden is out for now. The old garden got a good dose of roundup about a week ago, this morning I went looking for old seeds, found my stash of heirloom canteloupes, and several packages of last year's seeds for little yellow squash and cucumbers. So I wouldn't call it rows but I did string a ouole rows worth of seed in what would loosely be described as a row, and then rolled them into the wet grind with my mower. I have don't similar before with some left over seeds and had some success with it, haven't got much to lose and the jungle garden is planted. Will have a few more hills of actual planned and planted squash but by the time they are ready to plant I hope to have at least 1.5 arms useable maybe even 2! Also used the rest of the letruce seed around the mineral tubs and some dill weed behind them. Again I have nothing to lose except some seed. The only thing I am totally unwilling to give up on is my strawberries and they are blooming well, if necessary I will lay amongst them to pull weeds, usually don't have an issue fidig helpers to pick them, they are older variety I have had for 25 years, replanting every few years. They don't keep well or travel well but doggone it they are tasty. Besides by the time they are ripe I should be able to have my grandson back to help pick/eat them. We shall see what happens with the rest. N9BOW 1
