rps Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 I carry a jug of the 100x and a funnel in the boat. If the swells are not too bad, I simply refill.
Seth Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Well looks like you will be forced to choose another brand besides Evinrude. BRP released a statement that they are ending production on Etec and Etec G2 outboards. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wired2fish.com/news/brp-discontinues-evinrude-mercury-to-support-boat-packages/amp/

JamiePatterson Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Well, that stinks about ceasing production. I bought this last week. They were the only ones who would sell me a “man sized” tiller lol... snagged in outlet 3 1
JamiePatterson Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Dang, sorry I put it up there sideways lol. So far I’m liking the heck out of the etec nomolites 1
rps Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 When I bought the tiller 75 hp Etec for my 2006 Alumacraft (a boat I regret selling, but the wife insisted I buy a steerng wheel boat) I bought a hydraulic tiller device that locked the motor where it was when you took your hand off. That meant you did not fight the torque full time. Mercury bought the company that made them and put them out of business. It competed with their Big Tiller engines. Oddly, their Big Tillers were designed by the same man that owned the company.
JamiePatterson Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Well, this one has a jet foot stuck on it, so no torque. I absolutely love a tiller though for boat control. Back on the topic of small outboard’s, it was my impression that Tohatsu (sp?) made everything for Evenrude and Mercury below 15 hp. I think they make all the mercury 25 hp motors also. I had a 9.8 Tohatsu for a little while, it was great!
Seth Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 @JamiePatterson you'll love that 150. I bought my 2013 new in 2014 and it's been rock solid for the 6 years I've owned it. Love that engine! JamiePatterson and fishinwrench 2
JamiePatterson Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Mine didn’t come with trophies 😩 I’ve heard they are supposed to be great, hoping for good things!!! snagged in outlet 3 1
