Big Keene
Do any of you regulars know if it is worth the effort to try to find big blue cats in the Kimberling City area? gonna be down that way in about a month, and i want to try to catch a truly heavy fish. Are there big blues in that area of the lake? we catch the occasional channel and flathead while bass fishing, but never a blue that i can remember. just curious if anyone has ever targeted them? vonreed
I've caught hundreds of catfish from Tablerock, never a blue cat. Big Keene
Hunter53
For a big blue; go to Milford lake in Kansas. I have not personally fished for them but have seen tv shows and heard from people who have; there are some big blues in that lake! MOPanfisher
There are a bunch of big blues in Milford for sure, Truman is also rotten with them, don't ever remember hearing about any from the rock though. Big Keene
Dutch
A guy showed me a pic of a cat from the rock that they called a blue. I just smiled. It was a flat head. Big Keene
Quillback
I have never seen a blue in TR either. They used to stock them in Beaver, but recently stopped stocking them. Grand lake is another area lake that has excellent fishing for blues. Big Keene
Big Keene
looks like i'm going to have to spend some nights hunting a flathead or 2. i know they get husky. Illegitimi non carborundum (Never let the bastards grind you down)
MOPanfisher
Remember flathead like live moving bait, bluegill and gren sunfish seem to be the easiest to get and keep alive on a hook. Used to every year a fisherman or two would bring by a Polaroid (way back) of a big old flathead caught on a plastic worm, crankbaits or jig.
