How many remember fishing the water willow on the lake?? that should take you back a bit!!🤔 Used to be a bunch out in front of 83 marina. Hell of a good place to throw a top water early or late. I caught 3 bass between 5&6 pounds in the coves right across the lake from the marina in about 15 minutes on fall afternoon. That was just stupid.
Members BFScott Posted July 4, 2020 Author Members Posted July 4, 2020 My old buddy and I are going out tomorrow till the boats get crazy. I hope I’m still getting with it like he is when I’m in my 80’s!!! He stays with it all day long!! Love this guy!!! nomolites 1
olfishead Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 It's good to hear Pomme bass are doing well. The water level management plan that MDC suggested, and the COE implemented a few years ago has had positive results on the fisheries of crappie and bass. Most walleye and all muskies come from stockings, so water level manipulations to increase reproduction success have little benefit to them. Plus the habitat (brushpiles, pallet structures and aquatic vegetation) have probably helped reproduction and survival of many species. Does anyone know if any of the aquatic vegetation plantings have survived the high water events?
Members BFScott Posted July 5, 2020 Author Members Posted July 5, 2020 Olfishead, there is none that I know of surviving high water episodes. Wish there was. When the water stays normal for a few years, you can see floating around in the lake hints of what looks like millfoil. I have no idea where it comes from🤷 Must be little sparse patches somewhere. But the lake gets high again and you don’t see for several years again. Not sure how many years ago( I loose track) but way up the Lindley almost to sleepy hollow there was 2 little patches of milfoil, now it’s gone😭 olfishead 1
