Johnsfolly Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Plants typically respond to injury by sending out more shoots. Stimulating the growth of new shoots should lead to more flowers and fruit. You will get a thicker lawn by routinely cutting the grass and stimulating side shoots. Deadheading flowering plants usually results in multiple flushes of flowers. Fruit trees and vines throw out more flowers and then more fruit. Terrierman 1
ness Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Pruning in a vineyard plays an extremely important part in the quality of the fruit and wine. Many fruits (raspberries, gooseberries) only produce fruit on canes that are one or two years old, so the older stuff should be pruned out. Best to research what you're growing and how to prune it properly rather than listen to a hack like me on a fishing forum tho1mas, BilletHead and Terrierman 1 2 John
