i've fish out of the 19 ft. express.  fishes great other than you really have to stay on the troller all the time in the wind.  they blow around quite easily.  one other issue was the livewell boxes both came loose and that let the water out of them into the bottom of the boat all the time.  took a lot of work to get them sealed back permanently.

Xpress perform well and are really tough. Fit and finish aren’t the best but if you want that buy a glass boat. The compartments aren’t dry. The wind will be an issue but spot lock helps a lot. They will tip more than glass. In short it’s a floating tank that performs well top end. You can beat them up a bit more and not worry about gel coat scratches or blisters. If you want looks or perfection get a glass boat. It’s all a trade off. 2018 and newer are wider in the front and seem better finished. Crestliner isn’t a high performance boat and is just different. Which is just what some want. My $.02

$40K would buy one heck of a nice used boat. If it was me, I’d be looking for a cream puff BassCat with that kind of budget. Would be easy to find a loaded up Pantera/200Hp combo for that, could probably even get into one of the 20’ boats.

honestly, I can’t think of any reason at all to buy a brand new boat. That depreciation  hit is just too hard. A used rig a couple of years old is the way to go.

If I were in the market?

Aluminum? Buy a Vexus.

Glass? Find a used Bass Cat.

I suggest Evinrude for either.

I see that type of boat more and more down at Branson.  Gotta be honest.  I have a flat bottom jet and when I see them them on Taney I have to hit the brakes😆

is that a bad thing?

I bought my jet to run rivers which is the closest fishing To the house that I like to do.   Dragging it to Taney is just a side a benefit of it.  Not optimal when they run water down but it works well.  I’ll never have to worry about seeing you on this river though😁

Been there.  Many years ago took my wife to Branson boat dock, hired a guide and went trout fishing. don't remember the guides name but he was really great. said i just wanted my wife to catch fish. he took us up closer to the dam, spent the entire time in the back with my wife catching trout, then she caught a sucker, so they switched to that and they laughed like a couple a kids.hired him for 4 hours, we were out for loser to 6-7. she talked about that trip for years. i think he had as much fun as her. wish i knew his name. i loved nothing more that to hear her laugh.
