tjm Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Pyrodex is smokeless. Mixed with sawdust or kapok or monkey hair, I think, to give it measurable bulk. If it ain't "black powder" or "gun powder" it almost has to be smokeless powder, not much else makes a piece go bang. DHS is why powder is hard to find, they call it explosive and make you a terrorist if you keep more than a horn full.
BilletHead Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Nothing wrong with your .45 caliber. Killed a couple with round balls out of my dads Kentucky rifle after he passed. Just depends on how you hunt with it. Last year Took a deer and a coyote with a .45 caliber air rifle with round balls. I now have a slug that groups well to 50 yards so that will be my limit with it. tjm 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" oneshot 1 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Few recovered out of the 50Cal, Round Ball out of 54Cal. and .22 oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Any one of them will take a deer cleanly if you do your part. My Knight DISC will be setting in the safe until someone buys it, no intention of letting it go bang against my new shoulder, but dang it was an accurate killing ML. Almost all of them with a sabot and 240 gr XTP bullet.
