MNtransplant Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Another successful trip with @JestersHK! This time I brought my coworker and his son, and DJ got his daughter in on the action. The kiddos kicked our butts and landed 4 or 5 fish before any of the "seasoned vets" got hooked up at all. DJ's daughter also landed the big brown of the night. The combo of the signature series jerkbaits and some smaller floating rapalas seemed to be the ticket. Water was off and it was a beautiful night to be out there. Some colored up rainbows, a chubby smallmouth, and a dandy brown. DJ has a knack for teaching the newcomers (including me) and gave both the youngsters some great memories! nomolites, Daryk Campbell Sr, Big Keene and 8 others 11
JestersHK Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 So def a fun night for sure. Little guy was rocking some solid fish. This was also my daughter's first trip out at night and she got rewarded with a nice brownie. I think I've started a new thing with her lol Always a great time fishing with you buddy, In don't think of myself as much of a teacher, but I do enjoy trying to get the youngsters on fish. Jhoff Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 That's awesome! Way to get the kids out. I need to take my son out one night but my wife worries about everything. MNtransplant and JestersHK 2

Amen...i think my wife pictures me wading thru class 5 rapids that are alligator infested and then getting in the car and driving thru gang territory to get home....ill just need to bring her with one time. JestersHK Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 With water off its pretty uneventful wading. I did hold hands with my kiddo just because her waders boots are rubber and not the best... Plus who knows how much longer my teenage daughter will willingly hold my hand 😄😐😢 My wife worries as well but mines almost 16 now and shes way more safe wading in the dark waters of Taney versus driving lol. We got to see a really curious raccoon too who watched us for a while and lots of bats out too which were cool for her to see. Get those kids out there with you, they grow up way too quick.
