netboy Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 We have had minimum flow on the White and Norfork since Tuesday. They are increasing the flows around noon so the water is down until about 5pm here at Cotter. I fished Norfork one day and then here at Cotter and Roundhouse a couple days and Bull Shoals dam yesterday and this morning. Fishing has been great with lots of nice size rainbows, a few cutthroats, browns, brookies, goldens and tigers. The last couple of days at the dam fish have been rising to small mayflies starting around 10 am and a size 18 parachute Sulphur has been working on top. Egg with a midge dropper has been good as well as a crackleback stripped just under the surface. I heard they are holding back water since there was lots of rain downstream from Laura so I don't know how long the minimum flows will last. Here's a couple of pics. Members Hawkfarm Posted September 7, 2020 Members Posted September 7, 2020 I very seldom post. I always enjoy your pictures and report. We’ve got a place on Taneycomo at Short Creek and don’t have the dry fly action that you have. But we have plenty of surface action! Boats!
Quillback Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Great fish! The Newport gauge was at 19 a few days ago, but has dropped to 15 and I believe once it hits 14 or maybe 12 they'll start running water again, FWIW, the Corps works in mysterious ways, and that's my best guess. bfishn and snagged in outlet 3 2
