When the leaves start falling and the algae and moss start dying, and the super clear water starts happening, those bait fish stick tight to cover on the rivers. I would say 40-50 degree clearish water is ideal. 65 degrees today on the river. According to my meat thermometer😂 Mitch f 1
fishinwrench Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 For lake bass- Lucky Craft Pointers and the old school spoonbill rogues. River Smallies- 3-4" Floating Rapala. Big brown Trout- 5-6" floating Rapala I've never been on a good Summer or Fall hard jerkbait bite on a lake. For me it's all about dead or dying shad. Some guys can pull it off though. Mitch f 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 They don’t seem to work on trout in the tail waters. Early spring largemouth eat em.
Mitch f Posted October 1, 2020 Author Posted October 1, 2020 And let’s not forget that wiggle wart bite from 45-55 degrees. snagged in outlet 3 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Gavin Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 I fish the jap stuff mostly, and mostly discontinued colors other than Megabass. Might have to buy some new and send them to get painted at this point only 4-5 deep in my favorite colors with some baits. That won’t last another 30 years.
