yaknar Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I got out on the river last week. I dont need to say it was low and slow, more walking then I normally do. It was a little cool in the morning so I wimped out and wore my waders. The river started out a little foggy and at one place a mossy back turtle came over to the kayak to say hey. I caught fish, but I didn't catch any goggle eyes, strange. So all I caught were bass and 3 walleyes. Three walleyes on one trip is a record for me. All of the walleyes were caught on a 1/8 oz black lure. As I was taking a picture of one, it fell between my legs, even without waders I don't think they bit anything but fingers , do they? Great day on the river, I had it all to myself. Took pictures of a few and released them all... Ham, Dougie, Daryk Campbell Sr and 9 others 12

curtisce Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I fish the James in the summer, not as much now as in the past. Never fished up in the area you are. Usually goff creek area on down. Have caught a few walleye but a rare occurrence. so it's either the area your'e fishing or were doing totally different techniques. I'd say the former. hope you have continued success The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check
yaknar Posted September 28, 2022 Author Posted September 28, 2022 Thanks for the comment curtisce. A week before the walleyes, I caught this “ugly walleye”. I have only caught two of these before. Usually they either throw the lure out or when they come along the kayak their snout hit the side of the kayak and it’s knocks the lure out, so I bailed out and walked it to the bank. I keep my camera, cell phone, around my neck and thought I should take a quick video before I lost it. Camera in one hand , rod in the other.crazy… https://youtu.be/e42DTIVAE4E Bass Yakker 1
