finally got one.  so, for those waiting to see how i like mine, all i've got to say is wow!  great bracket.  great latching system.  motor is really quiet.  steering is so quiet that you never hear it on normal adjustments.  spot lock stays on a dime.  deploys and stows like there is nothing there.  i got a 24v 82 lb. thrust, and it has really got the zip!

don''t even ask me how i got one.  kind of by hook and crook, but they are supposed to be making them after the 1st if the year.  so, here is my stamp of approval, which there were several waiting on.

Good for you!

How much 100 MPH tape did it take to secure it to the deck?🤣

I’ve been waiting for it to come out before making a decision, I have read of multiple issues people have regarding the ultrex , such as water getting into the motor, control board going out, steering going out related to pressure sensors under the foot pedal, some say you need a spare steering board and cables with in case you have problems. I’m sure just as many have had no issues also. I’d appreciate it if you would keep us posted on your time on the water with it.

Since you have the inside scoop, did your hear why it took so long for them to become available?

This trolling motor game is so fickle it is a complete one up right now. For about a 4 year span the Ultrex was the absolute deal. Now it has fallen off the cliff and has a firm grasp on becoming a forth choice. I will say I never liked mine. To heavy, to noisy and 3 breakdowns in under a year of use with a top speed of 2.6 mph.

The MG's spot lock will be way better and it is fast and light as a feather to raise and lower.

My friend and client last Thursday runs an Ultrex  and after seeing and not hearing my Garmin he was totally amazed. Also could not believe the speed. We ran a deep cut in a creek channel wide open a shade under 4mph looking for deep fish.

I'm sure the race will continue and after all, it just takes money

Good Luck

suppossedly they made some more internal changes and upgrades.  they are to begin manufacturing after jan 1.

it was easy to mount to the boat, and the bracket is solid as a rock.  very impressed with it.

Thanks Bo. Please keep us updated with how it goes with yours. I've been wanting one ever since their announcement.

If the GPS lock on that motor is like the Motor Guide Xi5 it will be 5X better than the Minn Kota for speed and sound and same speed but quieter than the Garmin. If your using the Garmin and see a fish while your moving and hit the lock, it slams to a STOP, that is pretty much the only time you hear a peep out of the Garmin. I think its due to a much quicker response from the Motor to the satellite and return than the MK. THE Xi5 is just as fast as the Garmin but I believe lowered gear and a bit smoother to the lock and super quiet.

Considering an entire set up the Force paired with the Livescope and the Ultra UHD graphs are for today (probably not in year or two as this is a leap frog deal ) the current pinnacle.

second trip out with the tour pro.  i took an ultrex guy with me, and he was more than impressed.  i have the 24 v 82 lb. thrust.  full speed, pantera 2, 52 gallons of gas, and livewells full, 2.7 mph full speed.  no flex noise of any kind out of bracket.  normal movement of foot pedal, you never here any steering noise.  barely hear it when making a very fast movement of pedal.  spot lock is right on the money, very precise.  i just wish it had not taken so long to get it.  it is a winner.
