jdmidwest Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Back in 08, it was just 22, 5.56, and defensive handgun rounds that disappeared. This year, its all gone. Every Elmer Fudd has stocked up a supply for every type of weapon they own. All of the oddball calibers are gone. Everything. I was at a shop Sunday, couple found 2 boxes of 300 Weatherby Magnums on the shelf. He bought 1 and the clerk was trying to get him to buy the other. We all joked about it, at $5 a round, you want to line stuff up when you pull the trigger. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. My AR's use more effective rounds... 6.5 Grendel, 300 Blk Out, 9 mm, and the new .350 Legend. You could find 350 Legend until November. The 5.56 are for predators and ground hogs. Buy what you need to shoot, but don’t buy to stare and mole whack over it. Ammo is not going away. I only go through 3-5 cases of 12g rounds a year. Have that on hand, plus a limited supply for some other weapons, maybe 30-50 rounds for each, and a thousand or so 22LR and a 10/22 river from my dead father in law. 22 Air Rifle for Squirrels. Not sure how many rounds get issued to front line combat soldiers, but bet less than 200 rounds. If you need more than 2-3 you are in a really bad spot. My point exactly; you just called several thousand rounds you have on hand and you are a proclaimed non-fanatic gun owner. Going to be A LOT of tragic boating accidents soon resulting in the loss of firearms ammunition, maybe Rick will lend you his boat! Mike

Johnsfolly Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Interesting video. As a manufacturer you have to be cognizant if this demand is a bubble before you ramp up production to meet that demand.

So much so that 200 years later we are still walking around picking it up off the ground. Remember the old indian standing on the hillside looking over the litter and crying? Maybe all these arrowhead hunters should shed a tear too. How many more years are we gonna be picking that $#!t up ? No the French would give Powder and Lead to Indians for use of their land. English took over they said the heck with this. So the Indians no longer got Powder and Lead. oneshot
