Fluorocarbon line…what are you using

I have 6# red label on a trout jerk bait rod.  I caught a few fish on it and it looks likes it’s been over stretched if that makes sense.   You can see it in the sun light.  I’ve used it for years but this is a new spool.  I wonder if it’s a bad batch.  I got this on that half price sale earlier this year.

Sure sounds like a bad batch. Running a ton of it, nothing unexpected.

Is it from a 200yd spool, or one of the 1000yd spools? Those little spools have that featherplucking "notch" in them.

200

That notch can beat up your line, doesn't take much. I tape over them to match the spool lip.

I generally just buy the 1000yd spools. Those notches are even worse with braid.

I actually prefer InvizX or Sunline

If prices hadn't gotten out of hand, I'd still be straight Invizx on everything FC.

Sunline is some no joke strong line though. I might be fine with it on a casting reel.

I’m aware of the notch.  It was fine when I put it on but after one day of fishing you see that it is damaged.   It’s not like they couldn’t have a bad batch.
